A calendar shaped by observation

The twenty-four solar terms are a Chinese system of seasonal knowledge developed through observation of the sun’s annual motion. They divide the year into named periods associated with changes in climate, agriculture, and daily life. UNESCO inscribed this knowledge and its practices on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.

Names that invite attention

Pure Brightness, White Dew, Frost’s Descent: the names make a year feel tangible. Their agricultural and climatic associations developed in particular regions of China. Your own weather and surroundings may follow a different rhythm; noticing that difference can be part of the experience.

A seasonal journal, taking shape

Rituli’s Today concept pairs seasonal stories with small invitations to observe and reflect. Our autumn study asks what you would like to make room for as the days find their balance.
