While you make a red thread

The theme and intention you enter stay in the current page’s memory. We do not send your words to a server. Unsaved intentions are temporary and may be lost when you leave or refresh the page.

During a quiet moment

The incense timer runs in this page. Switching tabs preserves its deadline; refreshing or leaving ends the session. The optional bell is generated on your device. Sound starts only after you enable it, and background playback depends on your browser.

Today and your timezone

Your browser’s clock and timezone select the current solar term and daily invitation. We do not request your location or send your timezone to a server. The published calendar data is included with the website.

When you choose “Keep on this device”

We save the ritual type, intention or completion message, theme or session duration, creation date, a random record identifier, and any personal note you later add in this browser’s local database (IndexedDB). This happens only when you press a save button. There is no account or cloud copy, and the collection is not shared across browsers or devices.

Open My keepsakes to read your saved intentions, edit a note, download a card, or remove a keepsake and its note. Anyone with access to this browser profile may be able to open the collection. Clearing this site’s data, using private browsing, browser storage cleanup, or losing the device can remove saved keepsakes. Download cards you want to keep independently.

Downloading and sharing

A card is created on your device. It contains the intention or completion message, theme or session duration, and date. Your personal note is excluded. Downloading saves the PNG through your browser. If your device supports sharing, pressing “Share card” opens its share sheet; you choose the destination. The words on the card will be included in the image you share.

Joining early access

If you submit the Early Access form and agree to receive invitations and occasional product updates, we store your email address, the consent version, submission date, and a hash of your private removal code in Cloudflare D1. Each email is kept once. This release collects requests; it does not send email or verify ownership of an address. We retain requests for 180 days, then remove them during the next daily cleanup.

The confirmation offers a private removal link and a downloadable copy. Use the link from your first request to remove the matching email without an account. Opening the link does not remove anything until you confirm. Anyone with that link can remove the request, so keep it private. The code stays out of URL query strings. This browser may remember up to five request codes, indexed by email hashes, to preserve the original link when you submit again here. These local receipts remain until you use a matching removal link or clear site data. A repeat request from another browser does not replace the original link. If the link is lost, the request still expires on the schedule above.

Sharing feedback

When you press Send feedback, we receive your selected experience, feeling, return intention, optional comment, submission date, and a random submission identifier. Feedback is kept for 90 days, then removed in the next daily cleanup. We do not ask for your name or email in this form. Please leave personal or sensitive details out of the comment. Your saved intentions and journal notes are never attached to feedback.

Optional usage counts

Basic usage counts are off by default. You can choose Usage choices in the footer to enable or disable them. We respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Your choice is stored only in this browser. When enabled, future actions send a ritual name, a step (start, completion, or save), and a random event identifier. We record the UTC day, keep event receipts for seven days to prevent duplicate counts, and keep daily totals for 90 days, followed by daily cleanup.

These counts contain no intention, note, email, persistent visitor identifier, or browser profile. We do not connect counts to the waitlist or feedback. Turning counts off stops future events; existing totals cannot be linked back to a person. These are activity totals, not measurements of unique visitors.

Protecting submissions

The Early Access and feedback pages load Cloudflare Turnstile, which processes technical browser and connection information to prevent automated abuse. Submission requests also pass short-lived request limits; an IP-derived hash is used for rate limiting and is not saved in our database. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. If a security check or storage service is unavailable, the form reports a failure and lets you retry. Repeated requests do not intentionally create duplicate records.

Website delivery

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website and may process technical information, such as your IP address and request details, for delivery and security under its own policies. We have not added advertising tools, tracking pixels, or third-party audience analytics. The optional first-party counts described above are separate from content stored on your device. Our fonts and images are served with the site.

Rituli’s experiences are creative, educational interpretations of cultural practices. Traditions differ across communities, and our short introductions cannot represent every local custom.
